Hello all,
On Sunday 12/9/99, Grant Baverstock, Leanne Arnott, and myself surveyed our
usual stamping ground - Edwards Point State Faunal Reserve, St Leonards,
VIC.
Beautiful day, and some great birds seen, including a juvenile female
Orange-bellied Parrot. Other highlights included Lesser Sand Plover,
Double-banded Plover, Pacific Golden Plover, and two Swamp Harrier doing
some spectacular display flight - dive's, loop's, roll overs!!(Better than
the Roulettes)

Red Wattlebird, Grey Fantail, Laughing Kookaburra, Fantailed Cuckoo, Silver
Eye, Spotted Pardalote, Shining Bronze-cuckoo, Straw-necked Ibis, Little
Raven, Spotted Turtledove, Willie Wagtail, Brown Thornbill, Sulphur-crested
Cockatoo, Golden Whistler, Horsefields Bronze-cuckoo, Common Blackbird,
White-browed Scrubwren, European Greenfinch, Striated Fieldwren, Superb
Fairy-wren, White-fronted Chat, Welcome Swallow, Black Swan, Pacific Gull,
Little Grassbird, Black-faced Cuckoo-Shrike, White-faced Heron, Singing
Honeyeater, Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater, Sacred (White) Ibis, Masked Lapwing,
Swamp Harrier, Pied Oystercatcher, European Goldfinch, Red-necked Stint,
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Common Greenshank, Pacific Golden Plover, Red-capped
Plover, Ruddy Turnstone, Fairy Penguin (beach cast :( )Orange-bellied
Parrot, Pied Cormorant, Australasian Gannet, Little-pied Cormorant, Pelican,
Double-banded Plover, Lesser Sand Plover, Common Skylark, Magpie.
Total of 50 birds. (And four compatriots on Duck Island - yes we were
watching you!)
