Dear Judy I believe that what eats the peel off lemons in Melbourne is the Brushtail Possum. I dont know if the Ringtail Possum goes in for this as well. I am told that sprinkling the tree with blood-and-bone fertilizer, or hanging little bags of it in the tree, will deter them. (Providing the dog doesnt like b+b fertilizer of course.)
