A Cape Petrel (Daption capensis) was seen off Myrmidon reef NE of Townsville (18* 16.0'S 147* 22.7E) by Patric Centurino, Qld Marine Parks ranger on 14/7/99. This is well north of its previous recorded sighting. The bird settled on the water a few metres from the Marine Parks vessel and was photographed. I have scanned the photo and will send it as an attachment on request (but not to birding-aus, Russell, I promise) Cheers To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include ONLY "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
