More early nesting:
In Canberra, Yellow-rumped Thornbills started about a month ago. Birds have
been on eggs in June in some years.
Out near Peak Hill in central NSW there is a heap of activity. Both Choughs
and Apostlebirds are collecting mud and starting nests. Cockatiels are in
and out of hollows and Galahs are carrying leafy material into hollows.

... and further on the thread (and which I omitted from my Gunbower
Island report), Weebills were nest building in Black Box saplings at
Gunbower. About two weeks earlier I saw Yellow-rumped Thornbills nest
building at Barmah Forest.
(Both locations are in Victoria; on the Murray River; and respectively a
little west and a little east of Echuca.)
