Hi all,
I have the good fortune to visit my sister and her family in Perth for 3
weeks in Oct/Nov. No doubt they will have plans but I can't be in Oz without
doing some birding. Please can anyone assist and/or let me know of any bird
clubs in the area and give info as to what I should try and see or set up.
Unfortunately I have not got the stamina I used to have due to the necessary
and appreciated ministrations of the medical profession, so no climbing high
mountains or hiking for long distances.
I am the Chairman of one of the Johannesburg based birdclubs, sit on
BirdLife South Africa council and do both volunteer and paid work for BLSA
(such as manage a new project where we have acquired land in an important
birding area, edit the national newsletter, co-ordinate the endorsement
programme, get involved in marketing, set up management structures and
provide mgt. training to staff, etc.).
With this sort of involvement with birds and conservation, how can I even be
pleasant company to my family - non-birders - knowing that there are all
those yet-to-be-seen birds close by, let alone an insight into activities of
our BirdLife partner?
My contact details are below. I would appreciate any and all help.
Thanx and cheers,
Carol de Bruin
