Dear All I discovered a supply of 2nd hand timber for firewood in Sydney - sawn up old jettys and timber out of buildings, and all sorts of other strange items, as a result of all the construction work going on in this place. I don't have the name (doubt there is one) but it is the yard at the bottom of Johnston St where it hits Rozelle at Blackwattle Bay - there is a timber yard on ther ight hand side of the road that enters the car park for the Rozelle park, and this junk yard on the left. They also sell well matured timber to sculptors and other workers in mixed media. With the construction going on at the moment and for the foreseeable future, I guess there will be quite a lot of this timber for quite a time - its sawn into suitable lengths and costs $60 cash a wheelbarrow (large) - collect yourself is the snag.
