The chance of migration is remote. The species is a weak flier and lives in
semi arid parts of Australia. It is however a very common aviary bird. It is
the most commonly kept of the Australian native pigeons and breeds easily in
aviaries. (I even managed to have my mine breed when I had an aviary in
Melbourne (about 26 years ago). It is kept outside Australia. I think on a
100,000 to 1 chance it was an escaper or releasee from some nice aviary in
Honk Kong.
