Land based birds from Sydney/Wollongong, NSW Pelagics. No wonder NZ gets so many Australian Vagrants! A quick scan of the memory banks and I can recall sightings of each of the following land based species from pelagics over the years. When you consider the tiny area covered there is no doubt how many more must be missed. But the Marbled Frogmouth record last week boggles the mind. Reef Egret (One last weekend from Sydney), Cattle Egret, Great Egret, Royal Spoonbill, Swamphen, Peregrine Falcon, Nankeen Kestrel, Swamp Harrier, Galah, Rainbow Lorikeet, Fork-tailed Swift, Sacred Kingfisher, Spine-tailed Swift, Tree Martin, Welcome Swallow, Silvereye, Grey Fantail & Numerous Waders.
