I have recently been advised of Regent Honeyeaters in the Mudgee district of central NSW. Although nothing is flowering at the moment (at least not where the Regents were observed) it was suggested that White Box may flower shortly. The Regents were actively feeding on lerp in roadside White Box. It could well be worth the while of anyone travelling in central NSW to have a look at roadside vegetation that might have heavy loads of lerp. Although not reported, I assume that other smaller honeyeaters such as White-naped Honeyeaters would also be attracted to this lerp potentially making it easier to identify these areas. Happy hunting and please report all Regent Honeyeater records.
