Lainie Berry could be refering to Coturnix coturnix a migratory quail
of Eurasia.
It is also the common name for a group of Old World quail of the
genus Coturnix. There are four species of Australian quail in this
genus.

Lainie Berry Asks about Cordeaux Quail.
I can find no reference to a quail with this name in either the Handbook of
Australian New Zealand and Antarctic Birds vol. 2 or Introduced birds of
the World. Sounds like an exotic species (??).
