Hi fellow banders--
I received an inquiry from someone looking for a particular paper on
raptors. She could not locate the Journal of Raptor Research in her
local university libraries.
Here is a suggestion:
Go to the Raptor Information System on the internet at
www.ris.idbsu.edu.
There you will find a government operated database on the raptor
literature. You can do literature searches based on author, title,
keywords or other factors. You can obtain reprints of any titles at a
nominal charge per page, plus shipping. The Raptor Information System
database contains over 20,000 entries from the scientific literature, as
well as some from the popular literature. For raporphiles, banders,
biologists, and researchers on raptors, it is a fabulous resource.
The Olendorff Library that contains these files is located in Boise,
Idaho.
Remember, it is www.ris.idbsu.edu
Happy researching!
