I also sent this message on Sunday, but it appeared to have got lost. Someone (David James?) asked about Pacific Gulls north of Perth. I have seen Pacific Gull at the Geraldton boat harbour, but only one or two at a time. I can't remember if I have seen Pacific Gull at Kalbarri, Monkey Mia, Denham or Carnarvon. Pacific Gull is fairly common at Augusta, Albany and Esperance on the south coast but I guess that this is a different subspecies?? If they are different sub species, then this might explain the break in distribution around Perth.
