I enjoyed Mike Owen's attempt to identify the mystery parrots from the
video but because the subject given to the thread was changed from the
original 'Feral Parrots in Geelong' (posted by Russell on 17 Feb) he may
have missed the clue about their descriptions fitting Little Lorikeets,
which would suggest Peach-faced Lovebirds rather than Quakers.

The original posting gave the location as "somewhere between Waurn Ponds
and Grovedale, W to SW of Geelong". I hope someone can go there soon to
get an identification. The Peach-faced Lovebird in Beaumaris, SE
Melbourne (across the bay from Geelong) is doing so well on grass seeds
and atriplex and surviving challenges from the Rainbow and
Scaly-breasted Lorikeets (and their hybrid offspring) that I am
concerned it could breed.
