Hello All,

Not the stuff of scientific journals, but we are very pleased to have a
resident Southern Boobook (race boobook) at our suburban Brisbane
kindy. Recently it has chosen to spend the day on a horizontal pipe
below the "roof" (floorboards of an old Queenslander) within 4 to 5
meters of a very active group of children. It has been about for over a
year but is becoming less shy of humans than of mobbing Noisy Miners.
We never see it asleep. I wonder how much sleep it needs.

Ros Laundon,
Brisbane.
