birding-aus
I would not get too concerned. One fortnight is not a big sample size. Birds
come and go. From here in Canberra, the Superb Fairy-wrens have undergone a
spectacular and steady increase in numbers over the past 17 years, but that
is based on 44046 observer weeks in 1099 observer years of data and the
Superb Fairy-wrens being recorded on 723 of those observer years (ie records
of birds at a site in a year for anything from one to 52 weeks). In
individual sites certain species of birds disappear for a while but the
broad trend is much bigger than what happens at one location.
