birding-aus When I was in PNG in 1995, the migratory birds seemed much more obvious than they do down here. Golden Plovers disappeared over Easter while Dollarbirds, Sacred Kingfishers and Channel-billed Cuckoos arrived. The same scene was repeated in reverse during the September school holidays. One day I had 17 CBC flying around my house chasing one another, but I'm not sure whether it was at the beginning or the end of the season.
