birding-aus Hi Netters and George, >To throw a spanner in the works, I've managed to attract a >Lesser Sooty Owl in the Mount Windsor Tablelands in the Wet >Tropics of Queensland using a Sooty Owl tape recording. > George, that is no big surprise. There other closely related birds which also respond to other (formerly same) species calls on tape. For example the Black-winged Monarch investigates/responds to the call of the Black-faced Monarch, and the same goes for the Little and Gould's Bronze-Cuckoo.
