birding-aus Carol Stick with it. The blue rings here in Melbourne do not break. I'm sure these are Pura but, naturally, I'm not in the position right now to check, nothing but cardboard cartons in the fridge here. Were the complaints only coming from NSW and no need as seen to change them elsewhere. There are certainly Satin Bowerbirds in other states and no doubt they are also keen on blue objects. Other bowerbirds are likely to be attracted to yellow rings but any problems might not be so obvious. Regent Bowers are difficult to find and the birds are only common in a few urban centres, the same for Spotted Bowerbirds. Have our northern friends any experience with Great Bowerbirds and milk rings?
