To all
I like to comment that the Apostlebirds in Western Sydney are highly likely
escapees from Featherdale Wildlife Park at Doonside. They are breeding
freely outside the aviaries within the wildlife park itself aswell as in
various parts of the Blacktown shire (eg) Nurragingy Reserve, Mt Druitt and
in a Golf Course in Blacktown. Lots of birds have escaped from several
wildlife collections over the past. Therefore check birds suspected to be
out of range with this Wildlife Park or the Zoo.
The closest place to Sydney I have heard of Apostlebirds being seen, is
about the western end of the Blue Mountains (atleast 100km west of Sydney)
but as a vagrant.
