Hi everybody. The current Wardens at Eyre Bird Observatory are moving to
Broome Bird Observatory as the new Facility Managers - which means that
once again we need people at EBO. Check the following notice if you or
someone you know might be interested:

EBO WARDENS WANTED
An opportunity exists for a couple interested in the position of Wardens at
Eyre Bird Observatory.
Eyre, on the Nullarbor coast south of Cocklebiddy and 500 km east of
Norseman, WA, has been a bird observatory for 20 years. Set in the mallee
of Nuytsland Nature Reserve, close to the coastal dunes, it has a beautiful
natural setting.
Wardens must be able to cater for guests, maintain vehicles and a small
solar power plant, and to promote the positive spirit of Eyre. The work is
hard at times and the financial benefits low. A couple who can share tasks
equitably will find this a rewarding experience. Please contact:
Shapelle McNee
Chairperson
EBO Management Committee
21 B Corbel Street
SHELLEY WA 6148
Tel: (08) 9457 5008
Interested applicants should make contact with Shapelle as soon as
possible. You may find it an advantage to visit Eyre before deciding to
take on the position, in order to understand the nature of the work and the
implications of Eyre's relative isolation. A hand-over period of at least
a week prior to commencement is essential. It is hoped that the new
Wardens will be able to start work in January 1999.
