Tim Reid has pointed out to me that the original specimen of this group was
taken at sea and is therefore not certainly attributable to the
Gough/Tristan  population.  Consequently, the interim taxonomy adopted by
Environment Australia uses Diomedea dabennena for the Tristan Albatross (1
Australian Record) and leaves D. exulans for the Wandering Albatross.

The name Snowy Albatross D. chionoptera is thus redundant.......... for now!
