Victoria *) ???? informs us of the owl pages maintained by Dean P. Lewis of
Maryborough, Queensland.

The pages provide some information on the various owls in Australia, much
like a field guide except with a little more detail. There is, however, no
information on conservation status or threats to any of the species
mentioned. The site has audio of various calls which I have not tried.
The website apparently has some sort of bar on it, as you can view but not
print pages successfully.

In Victoria the Sooty and Powerful Owl are both the subject of Action
Statements for their conservation in this state. These management plans
will be released early next year and will eventually be on the Department
of Natural Resources and Environment (Victoria) web pages. For existing
Action Statements on threatened taxa and communities in Victoria check the
site at:
                         http://www.nre.vic.gov.au

and access the Flora and Fauna Guarantee link.
