There has been a big increase in the numbers of both rainbow and musk lorikeets
in
the Burwood (Vic) area, where I live, over the past few years. The rainbows
appear to be around all year now, but the musk lorikeets seem to be more
seasonal,
coming in large numbers mainly over summer, when lots of mature eucalypts are in
flower. I did see little lorikeets at Jells Park, Waverley, at the end of July
this year (when you were away!).
