Via the UK and EBN mailing lists I found the following URL:
http://homepage.tinet.ie/~barnet/
This is the website of Irish artist-cum-birder Michael O'Clery who some of
you may recall was out here early last year with Eric Dempsey and Esther
Murphy. Eric and Michael are the author and illustrator (respectively) of
"The Complete Guide to Ireland's Birds". I can vouch for the quality of
Michael's work and would recommend all to have a look at his "gallery" page.
Fay and I have a special affinity to his "woodcock" painting as Michael took
us to a site just above and behind his father's house in the Dublin suburb
(?) with the rather quaint name of STEPASIDE. We spent a very enjoybale
hour or more waiting for and then observing Woodcock fly over and into the
area. It is rather sad to think that it has now been "improved" out of
existence.
