Re Lord Howe Island Works programme As far as I am aware the current works programme on LHI to repair the damage done by torrential rains and storms in 1996 is funded by the NSW Government. The project manager is one Geoff Mead on secondment from the Central Coast District of the NPWS, where he holds the position of Works Manager. During August for two weeks , field staff from both Blue Mountains and Central Coast District NPWS spent their time upgrading and repairing some of the trails that those who have visited the Island, know and love! Ranger Lisa Menke also hails from the Central Coast so that there is some close connections with Gosford and Lord Howe Island!! Alan Morris |
