Yes there are birding spots around Gosford. These have been summarised
in a book "Birdwatchers Guide to the Sydney region" by Peter Roberts,
published by Kangaroo Press 1993. There is a good section on the Central
Coast. Copies are available from Peter Roberts, Carlyle St, East
Lindfield but I do not know the cost these days. Peter can be telephoned
on 029 4165605 and can tell you where the book can be puchased from.
The Central Coast FOC Group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at
7.30 pm at the Tuggerah Progress Hall, opposite McDonalds, Anzac Street,
Tuggerah. Outings are held on the Saturday before the first Tuesday in
each month. The outings are listed in the NSWFOC Newsletter. If you give
me your address I can send you the latest local newsletter. I am sure
that there will be some people to go out birdwatching with, however the
school holidays are looming which include the long weekend when all
serious birdwatchers go west!!
