These are some photos a friend of mine snapped in his back yard in Spence, ACT, about a month ago. He described the bird as being about Crimson Rosella size, with a call akin to "one of those sqeaky rubber toys" - presumably a two-tone squeak. He thought at first it may be an immature Superb Parrot. Paul Fennell (COG) suggests maybe a Princess Parrot, however neither the description nor call seem to match the field guides closely. Obviously an aviary escapee (although Superbs are in this area, but not this time of year). Any ideas? David Cook. <<mystery parrot.jpg>> <<mystery parrot2.jpg>> Attachment:
