Dear Ausbirders During the Regent/Swift Survey weekend I observed Eastern Rosellas (no Crimson in the vicinity) deep in the Ironbark Forest at Ingalba NR, NSW (near Temora) making a major contribution to the blossom discard pile. I thought I was pretty smart finding several Swift Parrots as a result of observing blossom showers...... then I realised I was just lucky! Interestingly, the Swift Parrots were very scattered at this site, essentially solitary but occasionally calling to "distant companoins". Both of these behaviours were new to me and this suggested to me that I should be paying more attention.
