Hi Netters, Did anyone see the piece on Channel 2, 7:30 Report, 17/8/98 where John Young is working with cane growers to erect Owl nesting hollows on their cane farms? The growers used rat poison to clear out the rats and this was killing the raptors and owls. So John had the hollows erected and stands for the owls to use in the fields as hunting perches. Good news is the owls have gone from 150 pair to 300 pair and the rats are in decline. Thankyou John Young. All the Best David Siems Sydney, Australia Phone: +61 (0)2 9759 1891 Email: |
