My recollection of vocal mimicry by a bird in the hand also related to a Brown Thornbill, just extracted from the mist net. Although this occurred thirty years ago, its superb rendition of a Kookaburra, sounding distant, as Marcus observed, is very clear in my memory. cheers Ian |
