To All, We here in Albury have nicknames for the birds we see. (You can guess) Wilbur Spoon man Kooka Bars Blood bum Parrots There are many more... I believe that names like this are just easier to use amongst familiar colleages however, it seems obvious that there is a need for not only international scientific (based on Linnaeus) names but also formal common names. Also, anyone reading this that has info on Brolgas in Victoria or NSW at this time of year could they please email us. Thanks.
