On Sat 25th July, I spent a few hours birding around McGraths Hill & Pitt Town. Highlights at Pitt Town Bottoms Rd 3 Whistling Kites harassing 2 Marsh Harriers 1 immature Spotted Harrier (great close up view) 100+Chestnut Breasted Mannikins (couldn't find the Black Headed Mannikin though) 1 Reed Warbler (over-wintering) Pitt Town Lagoon I didn't find the Australasian Bittern on this occasion A quick visit (before the rain set in) to Londonderry produced at least 50 Swift Parrots. Total species for this short visit was 76. Not bad for a few hours work. John Duranti |
