Hi all, Werribee put on a great show on Saturday (18 July). Allan and Rob Benson, myself and Alan Morris made the pilgrimage there from Sydney, having heard about the place for years. The objective of course was the Orange Bellied Parrot. Results: 18 - 20 OBP's, Australasian Bittern, Lewins Rail, Grey Plovers, Black Tailed Godwit, Fairy Terns, Black Tailed Native Hens, Spotted Crakes, and many more, in fact 95 species for the day. I highly recommend the place, provided you can get authorised access, of course. As an added bonus we saw a number of Black Chinned Honeyeaters at Chiltern on the way back. -- John Reidy, Sydney Phone: 02 9871 4836 Fax: 02 9871 2616 Please note that my Email address has changed to: |
