Mention has been made of the Victorian "Land for Wildlife" scheme.  The
following site has more detail for those interested in this scheme which
promotes conservation of native vegetation on private property and how
landholders can contribute to this goal.  Since starting in Victoria on the
1980s the scheme has now been copied by a number of other states.
