In 'Poor Fellow My Country' by Xavier Herbert the Willie Wagtail is
given the aboriginal name of Kikkirrijirrit (I may have some of the
double letters here wrong), which I think is a fabulous name, capturing
the bird's call as well as its animated 'personality'. 

The Brown Falcon has retained its aboriginal name in its species name,
berigora.
