Chiltern National Park (50 km south of Wodonga VIC) is very productive at
the moment.
Highlights of a visit on Sunday 7th June and Monday the 8th June were as
follows.
500m south of Frogs Hollow on Barnawartha Rd;
Regent Honeyeater 30 (9 with colourbands) feeding and singing in flowering
Ironbark.
Swift Parrot 15 flying overhead.
Little Lorikeet 10 feeding in Ironbark.
Darter 1 flying overhead.
-This site is also accesible by stoping at the rest area for the northbound
lanes of the Hume Freeway a couple of km north of the Chiltern turnoff. At
least 4 Regents were feeding directly above the picnic tables! (If they are
not here 50 m across the railway lines is the spot 500m south of Frogs
Hollow on Barnawartha Rd.)
