Subject: Time: 9:00 AM That Sydney Beach Stone-Curlew Date: 3/6/98 I wonder if the Beach Stone-Curlew now spotted at Kurnell is the same bird as has been haunting the South Coast for the past few months. Supposedly one was loafing about the Shoalhaven estuary last spring (September, October? I didn't note my informant's exact words, though he did say it was the first sighting there this century!) It disappeared, but in the early months of this year one was seen for some time in the Thirroul area. That too went away, but shortly afterwards I observed one for a few days on the flats at Shoalhaven Heads again. Perhaps it is now working its way up North again.
