Phalaropes and other Western Treatment Plant birds

As a progress report for those interested, the Red-necked Phalarope at the
Werribee Western Treatment Plant is almost certainly gone.  It has not been
seen since Saturday, 25 May even though quite a number of people have
checked regularly since.  Most of the waders (particularly the Wood and
Pectoral Sandpipers) have also departed.

However, there are still some interesting sightings at the WTP.   As of
last weekend, there were still Lewin's Rails (2) and Spotless Crakes (1) at
the classic reedbed on the Little River and Freckled Ducks (2 or 3) on the
dead trees on Lake Borrie.  And, of course, the other 80 or 90 species that
are relatively easily observed on a pleasant Autumn outing to the "Farm".
