Please note that the national Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot survey
will be on the weekend 9-10 May. We would like to encourage all birders to
search their favourite sites, as well as exploring some new ones, to help
us discover where these birds are and what habitats they are using.

At this time of year the Swifties are arriving on the mainland and
spreading north while the Regents are still very much in hiding! This
information is vital to both the Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot
Recovery Teams as, while we know where these birds breed, we are still very
much in the dark when it comes to understanding their non-breeding
movements and requirements. Such knowledge will greatly improve the
Recovery Team's ability to preserve and rehabilitate the habitat of these
endangered species.

Please remember that record sheets with no sightings of Regents or Swifties
are also important and that all records of Regents and Swifties are
gratefully accepted at any time.
