> I assume that the opposite proximity issue for LHI (570 kms from Australi > cf 1350 kms from NZ) and perhaps the records of only single birds outweig > the rather limited migratory behaviour in PO's and make this the more like > species on LHI. I wouldn't assume that. As I understand it, several species have reached LHI from NZ (eg Redpoll, Chaffinch and Paradise Duck) and some have allegedly colonised from there (I think Blackbird was one case?).
