Late last year (October I think) I asked birding-aussers about large flocks of Cape Barren Geese. Thank you to those who replied. A few weeks later (Oct. 29th, 1997) I observed a loose flock of ca260 CBGeese over an area of some 20 hectares in the same place. The location was near the intersection of the Wellington to Langhorne Creek road and the road to Murray Bridge. The irrigated pasture on which they were feeding is just north of the northern banks of Lake Alexandrina. Trevor Hampel |
