Birding Near Melbourne

Hello.

My wife and I will be visiting Melbourne and possibly Hobart for about 2
weeks beginning 5 Feb.

We'd like to spend a few days birding. 


We'd appreciate recommendations for the following:
a. birding areas near Melbourne and Hobart (preferably accessible to
public transport).
b. accomdations (B&Bs, lodges, etc) near these birding areas
c. people / companies who run birding tours in these areas


I know I am asking for a lot of information. But I'd be grateful for any
piece of information that you send.
