Indeed!  Which is why we should ensure that governmental and other
agencies continue their habit of conserving (attempting to conserve)
diagnosable taxa, ie. species, AND subspecies, races, regional variants.
Examples (though contentious!) include the Helmeted Honeyeater (ssp. of
Yellow-tufted), etc.
