I often see Darters in the lake at Jell's Park in Melbourne. Usually you
can see at least 6 or 7 in a walk around the lake.

I have also seen the occasional solitary bird along the Yarra near
Burnley. Last Saturday I saw one drying itself above Scotchman's creek not
far from the East Malvern Station (never seen one there before).
