WOLLONGONG, NSW PELAGIC TRIP REPORT 23rd November 1997
Trip Summary:
Seas a little bumpy but a great day with lots of hungry shearwaters some
so hungry that they could be hand fed while in flight. As usual for this
time year the Black Petrel were most confiding. The Providence Petrel
sighting was probably the last one for the season and the Sooty Tern was
an unexpected for November.
Conditions:
Fine but windy
Water temperature 20.7C once beyond the shelf.
Departed at 7.00 am and returned at 4.00 pm.
Predominently North-East winds to 25 Knots
Reached 26.0 Nautical Miles East of Wollongong.
