Yes Pickford Road and Tinaroo Creek Road have been completely changed as John correctly states, but don't dismiss TCR as Oriental Pratincoles were there a few weeks ago. Also the Golden Bowerbird is active on his bower and was seen in the last two weeks. We recommend visitors to this area get hold of Birds of Queenslands Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef by Lloyd Nielsen as it covers the areas between Townsville and Cooktown. It gives good identification sections on the birds as well as sites to visit and maps. Armed with this, Jo Wieneke's book and the Thomas's book you should all clean up on all the birds in this area!
