Looking at Round and Lekagul I can tell you that the Blue Rock-thrush is real beauty. About 19 cm long, looks bit like a Bassian Thrush but a bit more upright (it's not all that closey related to the true thrushes), and, if male, completely unmistakeable. It seems that it's a winter vistor to Thailand (ie September to May, northern winter). This one must have taken one look at the Haze and flown on for another few thousand kilometers. They are supposed to haunt towns and gardens in Thailand. Wish I could get to Noosa. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Dr John Leonard PO Box 243, Woden, ACT 2606, AUSTRALIA 'The pavement-coloured dog Sniffs the pavement-kerb.'
