GOLDEN BOWERBIRD, MT. LEWIS, 10:35am.

'Resplendant
curious-honey-droplet
all choking
caramel-fire and impact

against this jade-emerald
tapestry
of high forest quiet
like a cathedral

above a huge hammock-flower
sex-stage.

My mind watches the male bird and
I die
drowning in colour.'

lorne (hoping not to be too pretentious!)
