I have had a reply from Tony Ewart on the Bat Detector he uses for
his cicada work and which gave him interesting results from Brown Quail
and other birds as reported earlier to the list. The reply in part is as
follows------

 Regarding the Bat Detector that
I use. This is from:

Ultra Sound Advice, 23 Aberdeen Road, London N5 2UG, UK

They should be able to provide details of their products. Several models
are available of differing siphisication and price. Their cheaper model is
the one I use for routine detection of ultrasonic signals, although I now
use a different model (same brand) for actual recording. The current price
for the cheaper model is now around 120 pounds sterling. Perhaps you could
pass this info on to others interested.
All the best,
Tony
