Went on a quick trip to Gum's Swamp, 4km south of Forbes on the West Wyalong road, this weekend. It's a great place; we saw 30 plus species including: Restless Flycatcher, Grey-crowned Babbler, Little Friarbird, Blue-faced Honeyeater, White-breasted Woodswallow, Turquoise Parrot (coming in the evening), Pink-eared Duck, Musk Duck, Blue-billed Duck and Sea Eagle. Highlight was a family of Pink-eared Ducklings, tiny and fluffy, with (proportionally) such huge bills! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Dr John Leonard PO Box 243, Woden, ACT 2606, AUSTRALIA 'The pavement-coloured dog Sniffs the pavement-kerb.'
